I thought this might be a good place for an official introduction for those who want to know more about who I am and my story!
I'm Tabitha, the face and heart behind Weathered Willow Imagery! Let's get into a few fun facts about me and how I got started creating amazing art for wonderful clients!
So, Who Am I?
I am a mom, wife, sister, friend, and photographer! I enjoy nature and everything outdoors, which is why my sessions are primarily outdoors and at sunset!
I'm a simple person or so I think! Iced coffee and a pretty sunset, and I am GOLDEN! I love to laugh and often crack more jokes than my hubby! I'm not ashamed to let out a "snort-wheeze" on occasion either when I get really tickled!
I am a connoisseur of all the snacks, but my favorite are Life Saver Gummies! Bonus points if you bring some to your sesh!
Why Photography?
You often hear that memories are captured in a photograph and reminiscing on those moments can be felt through an image! This hit home for me in 2021 when my dad passed away. You never think that you will lose someone, but when you do, all you have are the memories in your heart and in photographs! I wanted to not only capture these precious moments going forward for my own family, but for others as well!
I began with a very basic Nikon to learn how to operate my camera in manual mode. I'll admit, I was a bit overconfident! 😅 I mean, how hard can it be to point and shoot, right? WRONG!! I had to learn the ins and outs of camera function and the best lighting for my style! Did I make several mistakes? More than I'd like to admit! Did I give up and throw in the towel? Absolutely not! You never know what you're truly capable of until you really want something!
Once I became comfortable using my camera, I invested in editing courses to further improve my work and knowledge! I've always been taught that if you aren't sure of how to do something, just ask! So, I did! And let me just say, I'm so glad I did! My work is finally where I want it to be and I could not be more proud!
I'm currently on my third year of doing photography! I have learned some lessons in that time, some easy and others the hard way, but nonetheless, all have been beneficial to me, regardless of how I learned them! I enjoy photography because it allows you to capture memories and personalities through art! I love bold, vibrant colors and my images always portray this! I love candid, raw moments of you with your loved ones and I strive to capture those the most!
One thing to know about me.... is I am a perfectionist! I try my hardest to make every detail of my photography sessions down to the final edited images, absolutely flawless! I understand this is near impossible some days, but like I said! I try my best!
With that said, my photography sessions are very laid back! We have enough of the fast paced chaos from day to day to deal with, so during my sessions, I like for my clients to slow down and enjoy each other! These are truly the moments that matter and I want them to soak that in!
I've always been an admirer of the sky and the weather! For me, it's fascinating to see the various paintings that can be created from different variables from day to day! I wanted to capture that along with my subjects! An epic sky along with a wonderful family, is the ultimate jackpot for me!!
I think I've talked enough about myself for today! I truly enjoy what I do and plan to be around for a while to capture your memories! I would be so flattered to have you and your family out for a session in the gorgeous North Georgia Mountains that I call home!
